Easter Sunday the choir at church sang a song called "Unto the Lamb". I had never heard it before and it was absolutely beautiful...after some searching, I was able to find the song on GrooveShark (awesome site to listen to songs for free -- it's like a customizable radio!), and wanted to post the lyrics and link to the song on here so that others may be as blessed by the song as I was (listen to it here: Unto the Lamb -- it is the version by Christ for the Nations Institute).
Unto the Lamb
I can see Jesus, high and exalted,
My eyes are fixed upon his face,
It shines like the sun,
I can see Jesus, clothed in glory,
He is high and lifted up,
And his train fills the temple,
And all of the angels cry holy,
All the saints cry holy,
All creation cries holy,
Holy is the Lamb,
All praise unto the Lamb,
Who sits on the throne,
Honor and power, dominion and praise,
Unto the Lamb, Who was and is, and is to come!
Goodnight!
Hey Heather, so Stacey just came over and i found out that you had a blog! I can't believe that I've been missing out on this! I'm so excited...it seems like we are learning the same lessons as we go along and I'd love to encourage you and share what I've been learning too. And please if you feel like I'm trying to tell you that you are doing something wrong please let me know or just ignore me. I'm just excited to share and talk out things that I'm learning with someone who is pretty much at the same stage as I am!!!!
ReplyDeleteRafe is probably the same size as Gideon...I guess that comes from Gideon being a premie and not supposed to be coming till when Rafe was born. But wow, he sure has lots of hair!
Just last week we began the great adventure of solid foods and Gideon just loves it, I was going to hold out as long as I could as I had heard of people waiting up to a whole year and thought, that sounds good but he was just ready and it was only a week from him turning six months old so I went with it...and it seems to be going great...but definitely a change in diapers. :-)
We also have just got to the point where Gideon is pretty much sleeping through the night by himself in his own room. That was a hard struggle...honestly i kept being told to do it earlier and I just couldn't. Every thought of him growing up and not needing me was just too much. But last week I was so tired one morning as he had gotten up like three times and I just couldn't function, I said, enough. I need to make his sleep through the night as I knew he could because he's done it before. So we started out with him in his own room with both our doors open so we could hear him. Well, none of us slept well that night. Joshua and I got up every other hour to put his passy in when he cried. But I didn't feed him and he did go back to sleep. By five I fed him. Then the next night he was up three times I think...the third night the same and then we started to close his door and he started to sleep from 8-9pm to 5-6 am. It was hard and it took up quite a few days and it was really hard because I had to not feed him but just let him go back to sleep. But I have to say...I'm not as tired anymore and neither is he...and he still takes great naps during the day. So be encouraged...Rafe will sleep thru the night. It may just take some time....you're doing a good job and it is not easy at all!
Also good for him rolling from back to tummy, Gideon still doesn't do that, he hates being on the floor, he'd much rather be standing in his little play station thing. Although he does get tummy time and rolls over that way...
Well I have a ton of stuff to do today, but please keep in touch...I'll be watching your blog. Much love, Stephanie
Great to hear from you Stephanie! I e-mailed you (*warning* it's a really long e-mail, ha ha).
ReplyDeleteYay! You found the song! I can't wait to find a copy and listen to it again. Hearing it on Easter was really encouraging. Has Rafe let you guys sit through a whole church service yet?
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to see you and Stephanie have connected (although I feel really out of the loop since I'm nowhere near this stage :-) I hope you guys can mutually encourage each other. It's awesome that you both have firstborns right around the same age and that you can bounce what you're discovering off of each other. What a blessing!
Yes, I did find the song! I was pretty excited about it too! :-) Did you try to listen to it through the link I included in the post? I think you can buy a copy of it from iTunes or Amazon.com as well....
ReplyDeleteWe didn't get to go to church last Sunday because Corey was adjusting to a night schedule, and I didn't think we were going to get to go at all until we were done because of that...but we are going to do our best to get to church tomorrow! I'm pretty excited. Hopefully Peanut Butter Cup will have a good experience with it and not get scared like he did last time. :-p
I am pretty excited about getting to connect with Stephanie! I've been following her blog for a while and it seems like Peanut Butter Cup and Gideon have been pretty close in what they are each doing at a certain time. It is indeed a blessing and I hope that we will be able to be an encouragement to each other. One day you will be where we are now. ;-) I can't wait!! You are going to be an AMAZING mom! :-)
