The bad news is that there are supposed to be "Strong Storms" all day tomorrow, so I'm pretty sure that we will have to postpone our outing to the zoo. That's okay though, it's not like the animals are going to go anywhere. :) Maybe next weekend the weather will be better...or maybe when we check the weather in the morning it won't be so bleak and we will still be able to go (not likely, but hey, you never know :).
Now for the good news: a friend of mine who lives in the area where I am hoping to be able to leave my horse while we are stationed overseas, may have found a farm for my boy! She is going to check it out this Sunday and will let me know what she thinks after that. I will feel SO much better once we get Titan taken care of and I know that he is going to have people that I know and trust keeping an eye on him for me. So, please pray that this will work out if it is the Lord's will -- and that if it isn't, that that will be clear and we will be able to find a good and safe place to keep him while we are gone.
Oh, an update on the blackout curtain and sleeping...this morning Peanut Butter Cup decided to wake up at his normal time (right around 6:50) and then not let me put him back down after that...so who knows which morning was the fluke? I guess only time will tell...I'm hoping that he will have a better night tonight. We shall see....

Of Blackout Curtains and a New Poll :)
So, last night my husband and I put up a blackout curtain in our bedroom to see if it would help Peanut Butter Cup sleep a little bit longer in the mornings as he's been waking up between 6:30 and 7:00 most mornings. My theory was that when the morning light came into the room and he would wake up be able to see stuff it stimulated him too much and he wasn't able to fall back asleep after that point. Putting up the curtain last night was kind of an experiment of sorts, and I have to say that I am impressed. Now, this morning could have been a fluke (though I'm really hoping that it was not!), but he didn't wake up (for the day) until 7:50. I was pretty excited about that when I looked at the time (I didn't have the slightest idea what time it was when I heard him moving around because the curtain blocked out about 95% of the light -- if not more). Pretty exciting! Hopefully it was not a fluke....

23 Weeks Old Today
My little munchkin is getting so big! It's strange to think yet another week has passed and very soon we will be introducing solids into his diet. Though it's a bittersweet thought for me, I think he is going to L.O.V.E. that milestone. :-) It's going to rock his world.
My husband's last day of academics was today (woo-hoo!), so now he only has about 8 more hours of flying left to do and then he is DONE! So, not too much longer.... After he finished his test today he was able to come home for a few hours before he had to go back in, and while he was home we decided that we are going to try to go to the Montgomery Zoo this coming Saturday. I'm pretty excited -- Peanut Butter Cup's first trip to the zoo! I've already recharged both of my camera batteries, ha ha. Can you tell I'm excited? :-p

Genealogy Anyone?
Today I was adding some of my relatives to my family tree on MyHeritage.com and I made several interesting discoveries, one being that both my sister and myself share birthdays with two of my maternal grandmother's brothers. I had already known that I shared a birthday with my Great-Uncle Ernie, but none of us has realized that my sister was born on Great-Uncle Jefferson's birthday. I found it rather ironic -- not that we shared birthdays with relatives, but that two sets of siblings shared birthdays. Maybe I'm just weird and it's not that big of a deal, but it was a surprising discovery for me.
I also found out that one of the girls (Mildred) listed as my maternal grandmother's sister was actually her cousin. Apparently her mother had when she and her siblings were very young and her and her brothers were 'doled-out' among the aunts and uncles who raised them as their own children. My mom told me that Mildred always referred to her real father as "Uncle ..." when growing up as she didn't know that he was really her father. When they eventually told her the truth (if my mom remembers correctly what her mom told her), it created a huge rift between Mildred and the rest of the family. Isn't that sad?
So, there are some random facts I discovered during my family-tree making quest...one of these days I'm going to join a genealogical website so I can delve farther back and learn more about my family history. I want my children to know where our roots were.
Does anyone else reading this have as much of a fascination with genealogy and family history as I do? What have you done to learn more about your roots?

One Week Down...Three to Go!
Of the last phase of my husband's school that is.... I'm so excited about him being done and us (hopefully) being able to spend more time together as a family without the stress of him constantly needing to study. Not to mention the fact that sometime soon after that we will be moving! We are so ready to leave this place though we still don't have an exact date yet of when we will be leaving. I'm not sure how much longer after graduation we will be hanging around here to get things done around the house to prepare it for being rented out. Hopefully we will be able to get a lot done in the two weeks between classes ending and graduation so that we won't have to be here much longer afterward. I need a change of scenery.
There is still so much left to do before we move however. For example: sell the xTerra, find homes for the cats (Panda = YAY! Penny = :'( ), find someone to watch Quigley (our Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler) for a couple of months until his FAVN bloodtest comes back negative and then stick him on a plane bound for Hawaii, find a place to board my horse for the next 3 or so years (I'm sad that I have to leave him for so long, but there is no way I can afford to have him shipped to and from Hawaii and he's such a good horse -- albeit untrained currently -- that we aren't really willing to part with him) -- and then drive him to wherever that may be, replace the carpet in the house, and find a property manager for the house. I'm sure there are many other things to be done in the next five or six weeks, but those are the highest on my priority list right now. I know that everything will come about in God's timing, I just can't wait until all of the animals are accounted for (they are my main concern).
On a totally different topic...one of my cousins had her second baby today -- a BEAUTIFUL baby boy! I'm so thrilled for them! They already have a little girl and she'd told me before that looking at pictures of Peanut Butter Cup was making her excited about having a boy. :-) I think being on the mom side of things now makes me more thrilled when I hear about someone else having a baby than it ever did before...maybe that is because now I understand and know how much love a parent has for their child and how amazing the whole experience of being a parent is. Babies and children are such a blessing! I'm so excited for my cousin, her family, and the new addition -- I can't even put into words how happy I am for them!
Speaking of precious baby boys...my little Peanut Butter Cup is still teething with no sign of the 'toofers' (ha ha) yet. Since I've never experienced a teething baby before I'm not sure if this means anything as to how much longer it will be before a tooth emerges, but for the past few days he has been pulling in his lower lip over his lower gums and just holding it there. Also, if I try to gently push his lip down so I can see the gums, he will pull his lip in like I just described and squeeze his mouth shut (it's so cute when he does it). If he decides that he wants my finger in his mouth though, in it goes. Yesterday he had my hand and he tried each of my fingers one by one -- starting with my pinkie and working his way towards my thumb. :-) He would put one finger in his mouth for a couple seconds, pull it out, look at it, grab the next finger, look at it, put it in his mouth, and so on and so forth. It was too funny! He was concentrating so hard. :-)
Well, I guess I'd better go try to get some sleep before Peanut Butter Cup wakes up. Goodnight everyone!
